Our Story

Prescott College Southern has a rich history of serving families in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. The school first opened its doors in 1977 as Noarlunga Districts Adventist Primary School, with Mr Brian Faull as the inaugural Principal and Miss Virginia Firmstone as the junior primary teacher. Forty-two students were enrolled in that first year. Over the following decade, the school was led by three more principals, Mr Ewan Brown, Mr Jim Carter, and Mr Brian Oemcke.

In 1990, the school was renamed Prescott Primary Southern and at this time we welcomed Mrs Christine Clark as Principal. Under her leadership, the school developed a strong focus on providing a differentiated curriculum, ensuring students could learn at a level suited to their individual abilities. Enrolments grew steadily and this saw new buildings and infrastructure added.

From its humble beginnings thirty years earlier, conversations began in 2007 about expanding into secondary education. In 2012, that vision became a reality as the school transitioned into a Foundation to Year 12 college and adopted the name Prescott College Southern. Our very first Year 12 students graduated in 2016, marking a significant milestone in the school’s journey.

Today, Prescott College Southern is blessed with a large thriving community of students from diverse backgrounds, continuing its mission of providing a Christ-centred education that nurtures both academic growth and spiritual development. We are proud to be part of the Prescott School system in South Australia and one of forty-eight schools around the country that make up the Adventist Schools Australia network.
