Learning Beyond the Classroom

At Prescott College Southern, we understand that students learn in many ways and that their growth and development extends far beyond the classroom. We give our students opportunities to discover their passions, grow their talents, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment that encourages them to push themselves beyond their comfort zone.

Through this our students thrive by participating in:

The Arts

Students are encouraged to explore their creativity through music, drama, and visual arts, integrated into the curriculum and supported by vibrant extracurricular opportunities.

Music is a key part of student life, offered from Foundation to Year 12, students have many options for engaging with our music program. We offer instrumental lessons for students with a passion for music and they can also join various ensembles, choirs and bands  as well as participate in various drama productions and concerts.

Beyond music and drama, students engage in Visual Arts, Media Arts, and performance techniques. In Secondary School, Photography is offered as a subject, where students develop standout skills in both image creation and digital editing.

Faith & Service

Christian faith is woven into daily life at Prescott College Southern, with opportunities for spiritual growth extending beyond the classroom. Students take part in chapel services, chaplain visits, and special events like Week of Worship, fostering reflection, connection, and personal development.

The College is also deeply committed to service, encouraging students to put their values into action through community projects and outreach. Service trips to places such as Peterborough and Cambodia offer meaningful experiences where students support communities in need and gain a deeper understanding of compassion and global citizenship.

Clubs

We recognise that providing our students with the opportunity to explore their interests outside of the classroom has many benefits. Because of this our students have the opportunity to explore their interests and build friendships through a variety of clubs, including Art Club, Lego Club, STEM Club, and Chess Club. The College also welcomes student-led ideas, encouraging learners to take initiative and shape their own co-curricular experiences.

Leadership Development

Prescott College Southern fosters leadership by offering students meaningful opportunities to grow, contribute, and lead. Formal roles such as School Captains, House Captains, and Student Representative Council (SRC) members empower students to shape school life and represent their peers.

Student leaders are expected to be positive role models, driving initiatives that build a supportive and inclusive community. Mentoring programs further encourage responsibility, personal growth, and connection across year levels, helping students develop the confidence and skills to lead with purpose.
